Newsletter Winter 09                 Babylon Late British Museum 27 February 2009 from 18.30 to 21.00   Mandarina worked closely with the British Museum to develop a contemporary arts programme for the Babylon Late. The Late is an important large scale event which accompanies the major exhibition Babylon. The event celebrates the richness and diversity of Iraqi culture. It includes visual art, photography, music, storytelling, literature, film and architecture. Mandarina brought major artists and partners to the Late and secured the funds to make the event happen. "The expertise, enthusiasm and contacts of Mandarina in the area of contemporary culture has contributed to a vibrant evening programme at the British museum with a strong element of contemporary photography and performance related to Iraq today." - The British Museum Detail of a glazed brick relief of a lion from Babylon's Processional Way.
