Synopsis
Mandarina created the concept for The Creativity Project and worked closely with the Dana Centre/Science Museum to realise a series of 3 events exploring the interface between scientific and artistic creativity. The events were presented to a large, enthusiastic and engaged audience in March and April 2009 at the Dana Centre and at Tate Modern. They involved artists and scientists in dialogue and debate about the boundaries of scientific and artistic insights into creativity. They disturbed and challenged received ideas and assumptions about the nature and purpose of creativity. The events were Sleep and Creativity; the Brain and Creativity and Communities – a workshop which encouraged audience participation in a range of creative activities. This series was developed in partnership with the European Dana Alliance for the Brain, Tate Modern and Mandarina – and supported by the Wellcome Trust.
