Villa Gillet, Lyon
Synopsis
Writers from Glasgow were the focus of a highly successful literary event in Lyon in October 2004, organised by Keith Dixon, Professor of English Studies at Lyon II, and presented by the prestigious literature organisation Villa Gillet. This ‘rencontre’ brought together Alasdair Gray, James Kelman, and Louise Welsh, to read from their work and to discuss their writing. In addition to the event management, I contributed to the development of a long term collaboration between Scottish writers, publishers and literary organisations and their equivalents in France.
Services
- Liaise with British Council, Région Rhône-Alpes, Ville de Lyon to secure the organisation of the event
- Ensure smooth running of the event
- Liaison for the communication between the Scottish Executive and French partners
- Negotiate and support lasting collaborations between Villa Gillet and Scottish literary organisations
